NGFCU is currently seeking a Collector for our Collections Department. This position will be working remotely.
Responsibilities
Under established guidelines and procedures will be responsible for the timely collection of delinquent accounts. Will be primarily responsible for all member communication and document preparation related to real estate loss mitigation. Will perform tasks within established department policies and procedures to assure delinquency ratio is within parameters established by credit union Board of Directors. Make recommendations in response to member inquiries and discrepancies. Complete documentation for special payment arrangements and arrears. Contribute to the development or revisions of collection processing procedures. Respond to member inquiries in a timely manner. Perform and document the collection activity on past due accounts, negative share and over-the-limit accounts. Document processing and data quality concerns for department and management review. Responsible for staying current with all applicable policies and procedures. Contact members to determine reason for delinquency and obtain payment commitments. Outbound/inbound calls are non-routine and may require skip-tracing.
- Negotiate repayment plans; handle most complex collection inquiries and issues
- Provide assistance in compiling statistical reports and other special projects
- Evaluate accounts to determine what type of recovery (charged off or active) is necessary and make recommendations to Manager for final review and decision
- Review Bankruptcy notices and access PACER to determine the loss risk and if any type of recovery is feasible by reviewing petition documents and/or Chapter 13 plan. Filing Proofs of Claims when necessary; review for fraud and follow-up with status of the Bankruptcy; manage and maintain Bankruptcy Tracking Report
- Review Auto Loan accounts for Repossession action and/or have been impounded; follow-up with repo agents and skip-trace if needed
- Repossessed vehicle will require Collector to fully process and prepare vehicle for auction sale (e.g. Notice of Intent, vehicle prep prior to sale, ensure delivery to auction site); manage and maintain Repossession Tracking Report
- Contact members with delinquent Real Estate loans; must be familiar with the HUD notification procedure, regulations as it pertains to the
- Real Estate collections process, and time limitations
- Prepare accounts for recommendation of assignment to an attorney for civil suit
- Prepare loan modifications/deferments/extensions
- Assist with short sale preparations
- Review charged-off loans and skip-trace for assets; enforce judgments
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent, college education a plus. At least 4-6 years collection experience in a credit union or bank environment
- Must be familiar with current bankruptcy laws and have previous experience in representing a credit union or financial institutions in court as needed
- Advanced analytical and organizational skills
- Exceptional member service and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects with minimal supervision
- Advanced with Microsoft Windows and the Credit Union Core System, with an emphasis on spreadsheet analysis

Under direct supervision, the Loan Servicing DMV Rep will function as a point of contact for all internal and external DMV and Electronic Title related issues. Candidate must have knowledge of DMV per state guidelines, documentation and associated regulations. Candidate will be responsible for supporting one or more areas including, but not limited to, DMV, collections, loan auditing, consumer, real estate and loan servicing. Responsibilities:
- Effectively works with loan officers in perfecting DMV titles
- Receives DMV packets from the loan department, review for accuracy, follow-up and complete fee submissions in a timely manner
- Process and prepare appropriate vehicle registration forms to assure NGFCU receives certificate of title and member receives valid registration
- Ensure that all title and registration work are audited according to company policy and procedures
- Review and verify the releasing of all secured titles to appropriate parties
- Accurately records title notes to maintain quality record keeping in Dealertrack
- Maintain knowledge of current DMV laws and regulations as they relate to vehicle title and interpret titling regulations in each state for which vehicles are processed
- Participate in various seminars to stay abreast of changing DMV regulations
- Develop and maintain an ongoing and effective relationship with DMV, vendors, dealers and regulatory agencies to obtain titles, and solve problems in a timely manner
- Assist members, employees, and clients by answering questions related to accounts, procedure, and services
- Perform calculation of DMV fees and clerical functions
- Prepare auditing report of all DMV titles processed for management review
- Perform periodic analysis of ELT system, report discrepancies and make appropriate recommendations to improve process

Qualifications:
- High school graduate or equivalent

- Answer basic and non-routine member inquiries regarding credit union policies and procedures
- Resolves both basic and non-routine member inquiries related to transaction errors
- Process loan requests in a timely manner which meets the organization's objectives
- Provides phone support to the members calling the Call Center
- May review and verify the releasing of all regional secured titles to appropriate parties
- Interface with loan officer on behalf of members
- Follow-up and advise members of loan decisions
- Provide basic and routine real estate information
- Insure the completeness and accuracy of all documents received
- Perform clerical functions including data input and typing of designated forms
- Review and process incoming mail
- Supports management in attaining organizational goals and objectives
- Retrieve voice messages from credit union telephone system and distribute as appropriate
- Perform end-of-day branch reconciliation of accounting center, prepare checks received for back office processing, checks disbursed and check signer daily
- Maintain and balance teller drawer daily in accordance with all credit union policies and procedures
- Participate on an ATM balancing team
- May perform as Teller I, Teller II as needed
Qualifications
- High School graduate or equivalent
- Two years' experience within a financial institution with demonstrated success in a sales environment
- Expert knowledge of Teller and MSR functions (new accounts, member service and loan products
- Assist members with credit union products and services in accordance with all credit union policies and procedures
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and expert knowledge of the credit union's core system

Responsibilities:
- Reviewing and underwriting loan applications for acceptability considering credit union policies and procedures and within acceptable limits of risk
- Assess the risk of a loan and make an approval or decline decision based on the quality of the data in the loan file
- Ensure real estate requests satisfy guidelines set by NGFCU, its investors and federal regulations
- Accurate and timely underwriting of real estate requests for first mortgage loans (purchase and refinance transactions)
- Staying current with all applicable policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business or comparable field of study and two years of underwriting experience with a financial institution or;
- AA degree and minimum seven years of increased underwriting experience and authority
- Expert knowledge of Real Estate Loan Department operations, including, but not limited to, member resolution, account documentation, and loan origination systems
- Exceptional analytical and organizational skills, with an emphasis on positive member communication
- Must have demonstrated capability of successfully managing a mortgage lending pipeline with a progressively increased level of productivity and efficiency with all mortgage loan products

Training and Instructional Design Specialist
Northrop Grumman Federal Credit Union is currently seeking an experienced, creative and engaging Training and Instructional Design Specialist. The successful candidate will design and develop material for training and development programs, including manuals, handbooks, learning activities, visual aids and reinforcement tools. They will administer programs by conducting training activities and authoring eLeanings via Articulate Storyline.
Responsibilities:
- Able to create a positive learning environment by incorporating a variety of learning methodologies, which align solutions with course objectives and learner needs
- Facilitates virtually, new hire orientating support and new hire system/product knowledge training
- Designs, develops and delivers training and development efforts via various delivery channels including eLearning and Virtual Training
- Maintains in-depth, expert level knowledge of credit union policies, procedures, systems, product and services to primarily support branches and other department
- Responsible for creating, maintaining and updating training materials including PowerPoints, visual aids, handouts, exercises, videos, evaluations and tests
- Works with direct Manager and Department Leaders to coordinate and schedule employees for onsite and offsite training workshops
- Maintains records, monitors and reports progress of employees under guidance during training and development periods
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree required, or High School Diploma and equivalent work experience within Learning and Development may be considered
- Minimum of 3 years of financial institution experience with 1 year of which being in a lead-level role and 2 plus years of experience within Learning and Development
- Demonstrated success in developing, conducting and assessing training programs, virtual eLearning and instructor led
- Excellent knowledge of Adult Learning Theories such as A.D.D.I.E and Instructional Design models
- Knowledge of Financial functions including Teller, MSR functions, new accounts, member service, loan products, and credit union systems and programs
- DNA knowledge a plus
- Solid knowledge of course development software (Articulate preferred) and at least one Learning Management System
- Highly effective and engaging presentation skills and innovative training design skills
