What is the Bite of Reality Simulation?
Being an adult comes with financial challenges—we make it a fun, interactive challenge instead! NGFCU’s Bite of Reality is a hands-on simulation that gives students a tangible, "real-world" taste of adult finances.
Your child will use the Bite of Reality app to receive a fictional occupation, salary, and debt. They'll then visit various vendor booths, from housing and transportation to clothing and groceries, to make real-time financial decisions and learn to live within their means.
Your Child Will Leave With a Greater Understanding of:
- The importance of saving money and building a secure future.
- Developing wise spending habits and budgeting for necessities.
- Navigating the reality of credit, debt, and living within their means.
- The impact of daily choices when planning for the future.
Adults are welcome to stay or go.
You are welcome to stay and explore the museum while your child is immersed in the simulation.

1 Child needs a smart phone/tablet in order to download and use the Bite of Reality app for the event. If your child does not have a smart device, please email Cori Sanchez at CoriS@ngfcu.us so we can accommodate.
